KAL KI LADKI- SOLO EXHIBITION & ART RESIDENCY

Very recently, I was awarded with the prestigious residency at The Last Ship (the Julius Macwan Institute) in Mumbai. It took a lotwas their fist time ever to host a typographer as an artist.  My solo exhibition was more an experiment to provoke a conversation about TYPOGRAPHY with the indifferent world of art. The usual wine and cheese was replaced by ‘chai’ and ‘alphabetic savories’. The expected coloured canvases made way to black and white exploration of english and devanagri typography.

Opinions spoke loud. Reactions screamt louder.

Invite design and the thematic opening piece of the exhibition

Mom made type : My mother made some indian savoury treats to be served at the exhibition with Chai ( tea ). This was her take on the wine and cheese and gesture of support.
